FAQs
-
Material selection typically begins once your spatial plans are finalized and approved. This ensures we're selecting materials for a design you're completely happy with. The process usually takes 2-4 weeks depending on the scope of your project and how many spaces we're styling.
-
Not at all. While we work with trusted partners who consistently deliver quality products and reliable service, we're happy to source materials from suppliers you've found or have existing relationships with. Our role is to help you make informed choices, wherever those materials come from.
-
We start by understanding your lifestyle, maintenance preferences, and budget alongside your aesthetic goals. Do you have young children or pets? Do you love cooking or prefer low-maintenance solutions? These practical considerations help filter options significantly. We'll also create sample boards showing how materials work together, making it easier to visualize the finished result.
-
Absolutely, and we encourage it. Colors and textures can look quite different in person versus online or in a catalog. We arrange for physical samples of tiles, stone, flooring, fabric swatches, and other materials so you can see and feel them in your actual space and lighting conditions before making final decisions
-
This happens more often than you'd think! We'll always look for alternatives that capture the same aesthetic at a different price point. Sometimes we can use a premium material as a feature in one area and a more budget-friendly option elsewhere. Our goal is to achieve the look you want while respecting your budget boundaries.
-
As involved as you want to be. Some clients love visiting showrooms and being part of every decision. Others prefer us to present curated options based on their brief and trust our recommendations. We adapt to your preferred level of involvement—this is your project, after all.
-
Our material selection and styling service focuses on the permanent or semi-permanent elements of your space—flooring, tiles, stone benchtops, cabinetry, window treatments, fixed lighting, and built-in features. We can also advise on furniture and décor, but our specialty is the foundational materials that will define your space for years to come.
-
Our material selection service includes consultation, sample coordination, specification sheets, and supplier liaison. The materials themselves are purchased separately, either directly by you or through us depending on the arrangement we agree upon. We'll provide clear pricing for both our service and the estimated material costs upfront.
-
We always identify backup options during the selection phase for this exact reason. If a material becomes unavailable, we already have alternatives selected that maintain the same aesthetic and meet your requirements. We won't leave you scrambling at the last minute.
-
Yes, we can incorporate materials you've already bought into the overall design. We'll make sure they coordinate well with other selections and advise if there are any compatibility issues we should address. Just let us know early in the process what you've already committed to.
-
We create comprehensive material boards showing how all your selections—flooring, cabinetry, tiles, stone, paint colors, fixtures—work together as a whole. This bird's-eye view ensures there's visual harmony throughout your space, with intentional contrast where desired and smooth flow between areas.
-
We always confirm final selections before placing orders, and most suppliers have cancellation periods or change policies. However, once materials are fabricated or custom-made (like cut stone or custom cabinetry), changes become costly or impossible. We'll walk you through decision points clearly so you feel confident before committing.
